Restoration of Full Bodied Copper Ship Weathervane.
This large and sturdily built full bodied ship weathervane was scheduled for general restoration, including a new bearing. ACSC removed the copper replica of Henry Hudson's Half Moon from its perch 216 feet high above SUNY Plaza and replaced it when fully restored and rebuilt. According to the Smithsonian, it is the largest weathervane in the United States. Its dimensions are 6' 9" in length, and 8' 10" high. It weighs approximately 400 pounds.
