Chimneys and Smokestacks
Advance Construction has restored many masonry industrial chimneys and smokestacks in the Tri State (NY, CT & MA) area. Services have included inspections, preventative maintenance, lightning protection, emergency repairs and demolition. Scope includes square common brick stacks, radial brick and steel stacks. With the common and radial brick stacks repairs involve new re-enforced concrete caps, lightning arrestor systems, tuck pointing, banding, steel strapping, along with interior repairs, repointing and coatings.

At the 150' radial brick smokestack, ACSC performed maintenance including forming and pouring a new cast re-enforced concrete cap, tuck pointing and painting of existing steel compression bands.

Restoration of Radial Brick Chimney, Installation of Steel Bands.
The masonry of this radial brick chimney was restored and new steel tension bands were added along with vertical steel strapping to tie the bands together and give vertical structural integrity.
